More Than a Football Game
How Homecoming Became a Greensboro Experience
Homecoming may begin at North Carolina A&T, but today its footprint stretches far beyond campus.
During Homecoming week, Greensboro becomes part of the experience.
Hotels welcome returning alumni. Restaurants fill with classmates reconnecting over meals. Parties, reunions and gatherings happen throughout the city. Visitors shop at local businesses and explore Greensboro between official university activities.
The scale is significant.
A&T says its Homecoming generates more than $50 million in annual economic impact throughout the Piedmont Triad. Downtown Greensboro recorded more than 173,000 unique visits during the 2025 Homecoming week.
That's why Homecoming matters not only to Aggies but also to Greensboro businesses and residents.
A tradition that began around a college football game has become a citywide experience.
And that relationship between the university and Greensboro is precisely why GHOEGuide exists:
To help visitors discover where to stay, eat, shop, celebrate and explore while they're home.
